Powering Progress: How Seaglass Supports 100Green’s Mission to Deliver 100% Renewable Energy

Oct 21, 2025

100Green has been at the forefront of sustainable energy since 2001, as the only supplier to deliver 100% green electricity and biogas to households and businesses across the UK. The supplier has built its reputation on environmental integrity, customer service excellence, and a commitment to innovation. With a portfolio spanning domestic and commercial customers—from SMEs to half-hourly metered sites—the company continues to grow whilst focusing on customer service.

To support this mission, 100Green partnered with Seaglass to deliver the core industry-facing systems that underpin its operations. With extensive experience in industry operations and data flows, Seaglass provides the modular, scalable infrastructure that enables 100Green to operate efficiently and innovate at pace.

A Seamless Migration Built on Trust and Expertise

100Green’s journey with Seaglass began after years of working with legacy systems that couldn’t keep pace with the company’s ambitions. Having previously collaborated with Seaglass’s founders through a previous supplier, 100Green knew they were engaging with a team that fully understood the complexities of the UK energy market.

“We’d built a strong customer-facing system in-house,” explains Chris Greer, Director at 100Green, “but the industry-facing side was a challenge. We needed a partner who could deliver robust, compliant systems quickly—and Seaglass made that process surprisingly simple.”

Rather than adopting the full suite of modules, 100Green opted for a tailored configuration focused on enabling industry communication. Despite the complexity of migrating data from multiple sources, Seaglass’s team worked closely with 100Green to triage issues, resolve gaps, and ensure a smooth transition.

Supporting Innovation and Market Change

Seaglass’s value goes beyond technology. Their deep understanding of industry change processes has been instrumental in helping 100Green navigate the Market-wide Half-Hourly Settlement (MHHS) programme. 100Green appreciates the willingness of the Seaglass team to use their expertise to support them through the technical documentation, compliance requirements, and evolving timelines of MHHS.

“MHHS is a critical enabler of some truly innovative products and services – it’s critical that we, as an industry, get the implementation right.” says Greer. “Seaglass’ support has been invaluable in ensuring our technology meets the programme requirements and critical deadlines.”

Seaglass is also helping 100Green streamline the change of measurement class process when consumers change supplier with smart meters and critical for enabling time-of-use tariffs that rely on half-hourly data. By simplifying this process, 100Green will enable customers to access innovative products from day one, rather than waiting weeks for reconfiguration, which is the industry standard.

Looking ahead, 100Green is keen to explore new tariff models that reflect device-level consumption, all enabled by MHHS, and facilitated by the Seaglass team. Their partnership approach to innovation ensures 100Green stays ahead of the curve.

A Partnership Built on Flexibility and Shared Vision

Throughout the relationship, Seaglass has demonstrated both technical rigour and a collaborative approach. Whether it’s forecasting challenges, smart adapter migration, or bespoke product development, the team is receptive, solution-focused, and always willing to explore new ideas.

“There’s never a ‘no’,” Greer notes. “It’s always ‘let’s see how we can make that work.’ That mindset is critical for a business like ours.”

With just under 50,000 meter points and a growing smart portfolio, 100Green continues to expand its impact. Seaglass remains a trusted partner in that journey – providing the tools, expertise, and flexibility needed to deliver green energy at scale, while preparing for the future of smart, responsive, consumer-led energy systems.
